1. An advisory body to UNESCO has recommended a group of ancient monuments in southwestern Japan be registered on the World Cultural Heritage list.
2. Japan has pledged an offer of 40 million dollars to a new fund of the Asia Development Bank to help promote eco-friendly infrastructure in the region.
