The US state of California says it filed a lawsuit on Monday against President Donald Trump’s administration for ordering the deployment of National Guard troops to Los Angeles, calling it illegal. The lawsuit follows Trump’s order to send the troops in a bid to quell protests that started on Frida over crackdowns on immigrants. The state said in a statement that the administration federalized the California National Guard without authorization from the governor and against the wishes of local law enforcement.
