1.Japanese astronaut Yui Kimiya says this week’s crewed spacecraft flyby of the far side of the moon has lifted the curtain on a new era. Yui spent more than 5 months on the International Space Station until January.

2. The White House has said Vice President JD Vance will lead the US delegation for talks with Iran to be held on Saturday in Pakistan, after the two countries agreed to a two-week ceasefire. Israel has continued its attacks on Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon, as the parties involved in the ceasefire voiced contradicting views on whether it applies to Lebanon.

3. NHK has learned that arrangements are being made for about 30 NATO member-state ambassadors to visit Japan this month.
