1. Japanese Prime Minister Takaichi Sanae has wrapped up summit talks with her Indian counterpart Narendra Modi. She announced around 12 billion dollars in investments to launch new businesses in India.
2. A member of a Japanese non-governmental organization who is supporting people affected by the strong earthquakes in Venezuela warns that they are facing a shortage of all relief supplies. Poorman Mariko at Peace Winds Japan arrived in Venezuela on Saturday. She has been delivering relief supplies, including daily necessities and drugs, to the affected people in the capital, Caracas, and the hard-hit state of La Guaira.
3. Japan’s head coach has spoken to reporters after returning home from the men’s soccer World Cup. Moriyasu Hajime said both individual qualities and team tactics still need to be improved. Moriyasu came back to Japan with the squad on Thursday. He attended a news conference with Japan Football Association President Miyamoto Tsuneyasu and National Teams Director Yamamoto Masakuni. Japan was eliminated after a 2-1 loss to five-time champions Brazil in its first game of the knockout stage.
