1. US Vice President JD Vance has disclosed that an official signing ceremony for the deal to end the fighting between the US and Iran will take place on Friday, after which “technical negotiations” would start.

2. The Bank of Japan said it will raise its key interest rate by a quarter percentage point to around 1 percent. That’s the highest level in 31 years.

3. Two new candidates from South America have joined the race to succeed Antonio Guterres as the next United Nations secretary-general. Six contenders are now in the running, and four of them are women. Guterres is leaving the post at the end of 2026 after serving two five-year terms.
