1. The US Central Command says its forces have completed “additional self-defense strikes against multiple targets in Iran.” It said US Marine Corps, Air Force and Navy assets “fired precision munitions on Iranian targets that posed a threat to U.S. forces and international commercial ships transiting regional waters.”
2. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps says 18 targets at US military bases in Kuwait and Bahrain have been destroyed in two operational waves. The IRGC said on Thursday that its attacks were in retaliation for US military strikes.
3. Pope Leo XIV has held Mass at the Sagrada Familia Basilica in Barcelona to celebrate the completion of the famed church’s main spire. Wednesday marks the 100th anniversary of the death of its architect, Antoni Gaudi. Construction of the Sagrada Familia has been underway for more than 140 years. The Tower of Jesus Christ, standing more than 170 meters tall, was completed this year.
