＜リスニングのコツ10＞―活用形の変化が意外に難しいー
動詞の現在、過去、過去分詞という変化は文法知識として覚えています。形容詞の原級、比較級、最上級の変化も同じです。文法知識が音の識別に必ずしも役にたちません。視覚では「規則的」に見えるため、変化も理解できますが、聴覚では１つ１つの変化を「別の単語」というくらいの気持ちで場数を踏んだ方が効果があるように思います。最初、wantに聞こえたのですが、過去であればwanted。その音に聞こえませんでした。warnedの最後の/d/が音の連続の中で/t/にものすごく近い音に聞こえたのです。形容詞ではdeadlyの最上級のdeadliestという識別ができなかった経験があります。３度くらい間違えてやっとdeadlyの最上級であるという認識が私の中でできるようになりました。
