- Chinese health authorities say 143 more people died from the new coronavirus on Friday, bringing the death toll in mainland China to 1,523.
- An international agency says the new coronavirus outbreak has led to a sharp fall in the number of Chinese tourists around the world and that Japan could lose maybe 1.3 billion dollars in tourism revenue in the January-March period.
